Mad Fox Beer Dinner Monday November 22 7PM

•November 17, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Mad Fox is hosting our first beer dinner Monday November 22 at 7PM. Chef Russel Cunningham will be featuring a 5-course dinner that will include butter poached lobster, roasted chicken consommé, smoked duck salad, venison loin and salted caramel & chocolate tart. The food will be paired with Executive Brewer Bill Madden’s outstanding selection of house brewed beers. We’re trying to convince Bill to preview his Catoctin Creek Rye Whisky barrel aged Wee Heavy for this event. Cost of the event is $60 per person and seating is limited to the first 50 people.

Our first beer dinner is inspired by our desire to support the health needs of a child of one of our employees, who has been diagnosed with a rare disease. Part of the proceeds of this event will go to support the child’s treatment.

Stop by or call 703-942-6840 to make your reservation secured by a credit card.

Washington Post Neighborhood Guide to City of Falls Church

Washington Post featured Mad Fox in it’s Weekend section neighborhood guide.

“Mad Fox is a top-flight beer bar that sells great beers made right on Broad Street. Award-winning brewer Bill Madden — formerly of the Capitol City Brewing Co. — opened Mad Fox in July, and the response has been tremendous, with beer lovers literally drinking the tanks dry. It’s a real neighborhood place, with folks from Fairfax and Falls Church rubbing shoulders at the 60-foot wooden bar”

Mad Fox Halloween Weekend

•October 29, 2010 • 3 Comments

Mad Fox has a number of things going on this weekend:

Friday 3PM – Draught tapping of Autumnus IPA, this is a 17 Plato strong IPA heavily dry-hopped with Centenniel. This is the second IPA in Bill’s Trilogy series, with Snap IPA on draught as well and a third coming out next weekend. Each IPA is brewed with a different dimension of hoppiness – bitter (Snap), strong and oily (Autumnus) or citrusy hops (Orange Whip with Citra hops).

Sunday 12:30PM – Halloween Hog Roast – whole hog barbecued over night in the outdoor pig pit. Serving pork sandwiches starting at 12:30PM.

Sunday 2PM – Drain the firkin cask pints of Autumnus, while the firkin lasts. Our last drain the firkin event lasted 37 minutes.

Wee Heavy Tapping Friday October 8 3PM-7PM

•October 7, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Bill Madden taps a fresh batch of his delicious interpretation of Scotch Ale – Wee Heavy. This is a very full-bodied, dark rich brew with a sweet malt character of much depth possessing the flavors of toffee, plums and currants. This is the same beer that Orr Shtuhl waxes lyrical about  in his Washington City Paper Beerspotter column this week.

“Call Him Ishmael: Bill Madden’s beer is my white whale…”
